Sensitive Semiosis

Semiosis is already present at the level of the senses. The proper object of a sense is a sort of direct contact with external reality and cannot error. However the proper sensible is a sign of the common sensible in that it brings to awareness something other than itself, what Deely calls objective causality, that is making something an object.

Sight sees color, but from this we become aware of size and motion which are different from color but proceed from it as being brought into our knowing.
